Friday, December 9
Classwork:
  1. Do Now: Defend your choice of Shakespeare project.  Why did it showcase your understanding of the play or Shakespeare more than the others would have? Write your answer in constructed response format.  You may use this as your final 'Personal Log' entry in the portfolio.
  2. Finish Presentations
  3. After: Reflection (click here for the format sheet) The reflection should be created using your GoogleDocs account.  Please share it with another student for editing.  When they edit, your editor should highlight any errors, then use the 'add'+'comment' functions for each.  Please make the corrections and print both the document and comments for class on Wednesday.
  4. Printing Comments: You will receive e-mail notification when a comment is added to your file.  Please print each of these e-mails and attach to your final draft.
  5. Reminder: Today is the last day to turn in any late work and Independent Reading

In case you were wondering...the link between Shakespeare and Star Wars is not so far-fetched s you might think.  See what others have done by clicking on the links below(some are YouTube, so you'll have to be outside of school):
    Act V, Sc. iii-iv.
    Act III-ish
Star Wars and the Politics of Republic
Star Wars and the concept of Empire

Of course,  none of them hold a candle to our cast's rendition of Caesar's death in true Star Wars fashion!  Nice job, boys!

    Next Week...

We will look at Characters from both Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and George Lucas' Star Wars as examples of archetypes.  Since many of you expressed interest in learning about these links, we will be viewing one of the Star Wars films during class while completing our portfolios.
