- After: Check-out Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (Students preview project options)
- Then: Hand-back graded work for portfolios (due in 4th quarter after Research Unit)
- Finish Draft 1 of the research paper (Due by 2:15 this Friday, March 8)
- Complete any late work (please check your Edline account if you're not sure what's missing)
Classwork
- Do Now: Journal entry reviewing grammar for Draft 2 (www.grammarbook.com)
- Then: Improving your conclusion paragraph
- After: Writing Workshop
- Finish: Journal reflection on where you are in the research process (developing thesis statement, generating main ideas for subtopics, researching, writing draft 1 (stage 1, 2 or 3), revising draft 2 or peer editing)
- Check grammar/spelling in Draft 1 for turn-in by this Friday, March 8
- Finish any late work by this Friday, March 8 @ 2:15 (please check your Edline account if you're not sure what's missing)
Classwork
- Heads-up: This will be the last day of instructional time devoted to the research paper for Quarter 3. During Quarter 4, there will be two additional instructional days allowed for peer editing of drafts 2 and 3. Next week will begin the Pre-instructional phase of the 4th Quarter.
- Do Now: Journal entry reviewing Page 10 of the research paper packet (Write the 5 citations in your journal. Yes! You have to write the whole sentence.)
- After: final edits for Draft 1
- Alternate: Peer editing for Draft 2
- Reminder: FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR LATE WORK! All work must be turned-in by 2:15 either to Mr. Fisher, Mr. Herendeen or to our mailboxes in the Main Office. No online submissions will be considered on-time!
- Draft 1 will be accepted until March 15, but without the possibility of error correction for Quarter 3 grade. Papers received after March 8 will be assessed and returned after the spring break.
- Students who wish to submit Draft 2 for a Quarter 3 grade must do so before the end of the instructional day on March 15.
- Sign-up for Fahrenheit 451 project by March 15!
- Procedural Note: Independent reading is completely optional for the Honors class this quarter. If, however, you wish to do it, please sign-up by March 15.
