Classwork
(Turn typed poems into the homework bin)
- Do Now: Read/Listen to The Guitar by Federico Garcia Lorca (p. 648) and write in your journals what feelings you think the speaker's use of images convey. Then, write what you think the mood of the poem is.
- This may help:
- image (appeals to sight) + sensory language (word choice) = effect (feeling/mood)
- Next: Groups work on division of labor and lesson-plan production (click here for requirements)
- Then: Goal Reminder: Be able to teach each other about the poetic devices assigned to each group so that students can produce a poetry analysis using the SIFTt method. Click here to get a head start using the outline.
