  • Finish writing draft 2 of your SIFTt Analysis+Argument essay to be turned-in on Thursday (click here for the editing activity from class)
  • Lesson Plan Performance Schedule:
    • September 13-Mr. Blue, Mr. Orange
    • September 20-Mr. Pink, Mr. Brown
    • September 25-Mr. White
  • Remember that printing requests must be in the DAY BEFORE you present!  Also, check to make sure that any electronic materials work on PC!

  • Continue editing draft 2 of your SIFTt Anlaysis+Argument essay for 1st person statements:
    • This is a formal essay, so there should be no: I, you, me, my, mine, we, us, our, ours, your, yours, you're, etc. These words/phrases/sentences will not be part of my commenting on Draft 2!  The following is a list of additions to the 2nd Draft:
    • 1.        Pages are numbered and have last name at top-right corner (ex. Fisher 1)
      2.        Heading at top-left corner: Your name, English Period #, Date, SIFT Draft
      3.        Skip a space- title is centered and should read Poetry Analysis for Song Title
      4.        Next line should read 'by composer name'
      5.        The paper should be typed in 12 point legible font, double-spaced, 7 -10 paragraphs in length (at least 3 typed pages and no more than 8)
      6.        Page Break at the end of the 3-8 page paper
      7.        Last page(s) should have the heading at the top-left corner: Appendix A
      8.        Skip a space- write the title of the song in italics
      9.        Below, write the name of the composer
      10.     (if necessary) Below, write the performer's name if it is different than the composer
      11.     SINGLE-SPACED, PLEASE! Type the lyrics to the song, including line numbers (must match the font of the paper)
      12.     Evidence of editing must be present (1st Draft itself must also be present for comparison)
      13.     Good, Better, Best…first draft was good, second is better and the third should be your best!
